Coolest Wildlife encounters :On my way returning from a game drive in Kasenyi Queen Elizabeth National Park we saw 2 leopards fighting each other just in front of our vehicle for 3 minutes! It was cool!On my 2nd Gorilla Trekking experience at Nkuringo Gorilla Family Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, as we watched a silver-back in front of us, a black back just came from behind, pushed through our group rubbing its skin on two of us! It was scaring but equally exciting!

Dream Destinations :The Swiss Alps,Niagara Falls Canada.

Sam – Thank you SO INCREDIBLY much for doing a phenomenal job of coordinating our trip and taking such good care of me, Deborah and Carly while we visited Rwanda and Uganda. Your attention to detail, caring and checking in on us and coordination of multiple site visits all over the map was deeply appreciated by me. We LOVED having Robert as our driver/guide. He is a lovely person, kind, flexible, funny and good company! You do a super job and I hope you will feel free to use me as a reference at any time for BIC Tours. I hope that when you come to the states in the future I can return the favor of hosting you as warmly as you hosted us. Thank you also for the beautiful photo frame which will always remind me of you. With all my very best to you and your family”

Brief Story

A 3rd born first boy child to a polygamous family f 28 brothers and sisters in the rural south western Uganda, Samuel Mugisha started joining his father to tender the family’s cows at the age of 3. As the 1st boy child in the family cattle keep was later to be his main occupation that his had to juggle with education; only leaving home for the first time to join boarding high school at the age of 14 – a story when told when Samuel was later in Japan effectively made him the “1st Ugandan Cowboy who came to Japan”.

The successful completion of high school Exams from the rural school of Rukungiri let to Samuel’s fist visit to Uganda’s Capital Kampala to join Makerere University for a degree in Social Work & Social Administration. This was the 1st turning point that exposed Samuel to with world of knowledge and opportunities BUT also became the most challenging time when he lost both parents in a spate of 1 year only co complete the university with a responsibility to take care of the remaining siblings as the head of the extended family.

The 3 days 27th to 29th Nov 2002 became Samuels’ 2nd Turning point when he was on host 1stinternational trip to Japan. From everything for the first time Samuel flew to Japan alone for trip that took him 3 days (Entebbe – Nairobi – Amsterdam – Narita) full of excitement, adventure and lots of cultural shocks!

  1. 1st time on a plane.
  2. 1st time to almost miss a connecting flight Nairobi –Amsterdam.
  3. 1st time out of Africa.
  4. 1st time on a double deck Jumbo Jet – Amsterdam – Narita.
  5. 1st time in a foreign country where almost no body speaks your language (mother young and very limited English).
  6. 1st winter experience.
  7. 1st experience on a subway train – Narita Express to Tokyo.
  8. 1st Experience on a Super Express Train – Shinkansen Tokyo – Shizuoka home of Mt. Fuji.
  9. 1st cultural shock to sleep on the floor – Tatami (No bed) is such a foreign rich country.

The 3 years I spent in Japan, 2003 as a Japanese language student and 2005/6 as a full-time employee of a Japanese bedding (Huton ) company, was the most challenging yet enriching time of my life – having to learn Japanese language as a matter of survival while at the same time learning and practicing working hard as Japanese. I started to tell the story of my childhood life experience and the beauty of Uganda the pearl of Africa at Japanese at cultural centers, primary, junior and high. Most Japanese could not believe that I was from Africa(most believed that I am a Black America), I made it a point to convince as many Japanese as possible to come with me to see and experience the life story of the “Ugandan cowboy who came to Japan”! Slowly BIC Tours was born and has been at the fore from of marketing Uganda to Japan. We continue to reach out to the rest of the world including receiving visitors from USA, Canada, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, South Korea and Israel.

My dream and passion if to reach the world with the message about the beauty of Uganda.
